Op de website van RDW kan je dat o.a. checken. Het kenteken is bij RDW onbekend.

Dat kan betekenen:
- Auto is naar buitenland geexporteerd
- Auto is gesloopt en kenteken ingenomen, bestaat niet meer
- Kenteken zit in slapend RDW kenteken bestand (staat officieel niet meer op naam maar kenteken is nooit officieel ingenomen, staat bijvoorbeeld ergens in een schuur)

Kenteken DB-ZF-46 lijkt niet origineel bij bouwjaar van de kever te horen. DB-ZF-46 is volgens mij afgegeven in Nederland rondom 1991.
Die kever lijkt bouwjaar '73 of '74.
Is de kever destijds ingevoerd of was deze origineel eerste te naamstelling Nederland? Of geen duitse maar mexicaanse kever?
Sinds enige tijd bestaat er de mogelijkheid om het eerste originele nederlandse kenteken weer terug te krijgen.
In het verleden kreeg je een nieuw kenteken als je bijvoorbeeld kentekenbewijs kopie deel 3 of deel 2 kwijt was.
Sommige oldtimer liefhebbers vragen het eerste originele nederlandse kenteken weer terug.

Maar meest voor de hand liggend lijkt dat de auto niet meer bestaat of nu in het buitenland een liefhebber in rondrijd.
